![]() I grew up camping, and owned one of my own for several years as a young adult. We just got our new travel trailer in May and plan on going to the Smoky Mountains in the spring. We have camped at Flaming Arrow before which is quite nice. Let us know what you think of the KOA in Cherokee. Its not the same as an atlas where its all in one book but if you arent traveling lots of states then this will do in the meantime and its a larger scale. And on major hwy like I-40 if you stop at the state line rest stop they typically have free maps and tourist info too. You can also order brochures and visitor info for each city from their chamber of commerce website. Altho we use our phones for the most part for GPS I like to have a paper map to see the entire route at once and to help make decisions if we need an alternate route. ![]() Also download the WAZE app, its pretty good with directions and letting you know about traffic issues, etc.įor the next trip you can order free maps thru AAA if you are a member or thru the visitors site for the state you plan to visit. I used Map Quest to be able to see the exit numbers. I dont blame you for not wanting to drive thru Hwy 19 as it does get pretty winding in some areas. It looks like exit 102 gets you onto Hwy 74 / 23 and then Hwy 441.
